Location, Location, Location

Everyone knows the old adage, What are the three things that matter in real estate?  Location, location, location.

But what is a location?  Is it just a piece of dirt and a view?  No.  A location is a fixed point in an ever changing world.  A location is a place in a community, and while the location doesn’t move, the community never stops moving.  As Real Estate agents we know that it is not enough to just sell homes, that our future requires us to be a positive influence on the ever evolving community.  Our livelihoods depend on our communities flourishing, the healthier the community, the healthier the market, the better off we all are.

That is one reason why the O’Hare Team is making a concerted effort to improve the communities in which we work and live.  Here are some projects we have done, and some plans we have for the future.

The National Folk Festival

The O’Hare Team was proud to be one of the sponsors of The National Folk Festival in Salisbury Maryland for the 2nd year in a row! If you haven’t ever gone to the cultural event of the Eastern Shore then you certainly should next year for the 80th https://nationalfolkfestival.com. If you have been you understand why we are so proud to sponsor this one of a kind celebration of arts and culture. This year Mark and Dan were both volunteers as well!

Athletes Serving Athletes film Screening

The O'Hare Team recently kicked off the new Monthly Film Series presented by the Art League of Ocean City with a screening of film Rehearsal. Rehearsal is a film written and directed by team member Dan O'Hare and was recently featured in the 2017 Ocean City Film Festival.

With delicious cake baked and donated by Patty Jo Moore, and about fifty bags of popcorn popped by Sharyn O’Hare and Carole Spurrier, The O’Hare Team turned the screening into a benefit for Athletes Serving Athletes, an organization that partners athletes with disabled individuals in order to complete races together.

Thanks to generosity of The Art League of Ocean City, The Ocean City Film Festival, Unicorn Propaganda, and the attendees of the screening, the O'Hare Team was able to raise $2,000 for Athletes Serving Athletes!

Wicomico High JV Girls Softball

The O'Hare Team is pleased to be able to support Coach Bill Duck and the Wicomico High JV Girls Softball Team.  We were happy to help them get a new PA system and bracing for a new hitting cage.  Good luck this year, we're rooting for you!

Lower Shore CASA Broker Open House:

The O’Hare Team hosted an extraordinary successful open house fundraiser at their listing on 202 Charleston Rd, in Ocean Pines.  With the help of Ocean Pines, Berlin, and Ocean City Real Estate Professionals, The O’Hare Team managed to raise over $2,400 for the Lower Shore CASA.  Checks keep coming in!  The O’Hare Team is blown away by the generosity shown by the Real Estate Community for this important cause.  Lower Shore CASA is a program of Worcester Youth and Family Counseling Services, Inc., a non-profit organization. It was started in 2002 to try and effectively reach all abused and neglected children in Worcester County and to ensure that the children have safe, permanent and loving homes.

Carole Spurrier lent her culinary expertise to the cause and really outdid herself with the spread.  She certainly set a high bar for future events!  Special guests included Stephen Taylor, Executive Director of Worcester Youth and Family Counselling Service,  Brigitte Southworth, CASA Director of Worcester Youth and Family Counselling Service, and our guest “bartender” Jim Ireton, former Mayor and current Salisbury City Councilman.

Keep an eye out for more events in the future!
